Wrapping up 2016 by giving grace - I'm grateful

08:35
2016
“What a year” *Sigh
Exciting, cold, sweet, fun and more, all round packaged in 366 days, seasoned with disappointments, greatness and a dash of awesomeness.
A year full of downfalls, greatness, love, hate, happiness, sadness...., I don’t really think much was different from all the other years. I believe each year comes by the same and it’s our level of growth that determines how we are going to live. What I'm pretty sure about is that, every year I’m on a Roller-coaster and I’m pretty damn sure I’m not alone, but how one get through the ride, depends on how they react on those twists and turns. I wouldn't say 2016 was my greatness nor my worst year, but rather it was another year full of life lessons and celebrations.

To wrap up my 2016, there are a few things I’m really grateful for, here is my 10 (there is more, but I’ll just give 10):

10. I’m grateful for the people who found an EXIT out of my life and I’m grateful to have found one too. I’m also grateful for those who found an entrance, adult relationships are more meaningful, how long they’d last, it’s not for me to determine but rather appreciate and value what I have at the moment.

9.  Grateful for the love and support I have been getting from everyone following my art, I aspire to be great in the coming years and it’s all because of the motivation I get from you. Your support fuels my passion every single day.

8. I’m grateful for the people who believe so much in my work as a CREATIVE and take chances to let me be part of their creations, part of their empire, that opportunity is highly appreciated.

7. I’d be selfish If I wouldn't be grateful for the opportunities and achievements I got this year, the milestones and seeds I've planted, I’m more than happy to have been presented with them, some people most probably didn't get what I got. I’m grateful.

6. I’m grateful for the challenges I endured throughout the year, believe me, I have faced the worst but I didn't let any of them deter me, but rather, took them as life lessons and motivation to be great - my quest to self-realisation.

5. I’m grateful that, even though I’m not “money RICH”, I’m still able to go by, still able to chase my dreams even if it means travelling miles and miles away from home, that alone is sufficient to give grace for.

4. I’m grateful for the little good things that I take for granted yet they amount to the greatest things in my life, I’m grateful for my mind, for my hands, my sight, my ability to speak, grateful for the job I have, grateful that I woke up to write this. All these add up to the person I am now.

3. I’m grateful for my 2nd family, my friends, these guys are part of my being, they have been with me for the longest and do keep me motivated. They have been through a LOT with me, even though some are miles away, they have been a really great support system. I’ll forever be thankful.

2. I’m grateful for the family I've got, these guys have always been and still are with me throughout my life journey, from the craziest decisions I made & make, the lowest and highest point of my life, there are always there. They might not agree with some choices I make but they are always supportive. I couldn't ask for anything more or less.

1. Above all, I’m grateful for The gift of life. I’m grateful that I get to wake up each day in good health, protected by the all mighty, HE is the reason I’m healthy, the reason I’m breathing and the reason why I’m still alive. I’ll forever be grateful to his mercies, grace and protection. Thank you LORD.

2016 might have been rough, believe it when they say “Good things come from what we deem bad”. Be optimistic and enjoy life, 2016 has made me more optimistic than I was throughout my life. The life lessons have groomed who I am now.
I’m excited and nervous for what 2017 has in store for me, personally, as a blogger, creative and a photographer. I’m praying and hoping for greater things, like they always say,
DREAM IT, BELIEVE IT, ACHIEVE IT

Season's Greetings With Love from Nesro

15:41
Christmas- it’s a time to be Jolly, Loving, Giving and Thoughtful.
It’s the time of the year were a lot people are much more generous than any other time.
People are showered with gifts as well as receiving some in return.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Yet again, I’m spending another Christmas away from home, 3 years in a row.
2014, I spent it in Thailand, 2015 in Vietnam and 2016 I’m back again in Thailand. Even though last year I spent Christmas away from home, I had an awesome day, I made a few friends in Vietnam and we all travelled out of town to CAT BA ISLANDS where we had an awesome dinner and exchanged gifts. --> 2015 XMas in VIETNAM
This year I’m spending it with a friend in Thailand, she’s away from home as well, she has been away for the longest, so I guess we can make it a memorable one. I haven’t bought any gifts yet and I’m not sure if I really need to, because I’m not expecting one, Hahaha, but then again, I’ll see on the actual day, which is TOMORROW of course.

Back home, Christmas in our family Is Very Important, one of the holidays that most of the family members get to see each other after a very long time, or even for the first time that year.
While I was home, I had made it a point that every Christmas I was in my hometown, actually it was a must that I was there, I’d take a 5hours drive on Christmas eve, sometimes right after work, to get home just before Christmas day. I remember one of my Aunts who used to work in the city, she’d take a late-night train and arrive on Christmas morning, that’s how important Christmas is to our Family. It is TIME TO BE HOME.
This is the 2nd Christmas NESRO LIVE.
I’m taking this time yet again to Wish Each and Everyone who has been supportive throughout the year a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
At NESRO, we are happy that we got to share a few Gifts with our followers. Even though they haven’t physically received the Gifts, they have been sent to them.

Once again

MERRY CHRISTMAS HAPPY NEW YEAR

Choices, Challenges & Battles

09:21
CHOICES
I Am My CHOICES

I am because you are part of my existence
You are the path I’m drifting along;
bit by bit, stride by stride I’m heading towards the days of revelation
Towards that understanding of WHO I AM and WHO I AM TO BECOME
You are the foundation of my FUTURE
Black or White, Left or Right, sadly, one has to suffer at the cost of the next.
Consequences of you are ME, Good! ME, Bad! Still ME.
You dip me into a state of turbulence and watch me fight through

CHALLENGES
My Challenges, My Growth

You shift my consciousness
Shift my calmness and leave me questioning my choices
You compel me to move forward and be the best version of myself
You outline my detailed character
Manning up to you instil in me the Foundation to take on my Battles.

BATTLES
I Choose My Battles

I am head to head with you because I brought myself HERE
I choose my own, I choose them wisely
You are my getaway to liberation
Surviving you definitely seals my soul with serenity
You are my true definition of how my character evolves.
You lead me back to choices that I have made and YET to make AGAIN

I make choices, I’m faced with challenges and I fight my battles for me.
I am on a quest to discover the real ME, the person that I aspire to become.

I am MY NOW and I am MY FUTURE

My Story - Nthabiseng Rhoda Mokgoabone

14:13
Since I have been asked me to share my story, my mind drifted back and forth to other peoples’, and after days of pondering and borderline frustration of why, it hit me - my life is not my own. That is how my story starts, and ends. I think it started really in my late teen years; I had already been through a lot in my life and what then seemed like an escape less selfish than suicide, I found myself at a familiar place of once again feeling stuck and dead. As a visionary, this was enough to leave me crippled and hopeless… But that was then and this is now, in between I found a reason bigger than my self-centred pity parties and brokenness. I found my purpose: People. This newly found passion shaped my life and unwavering dedication to serving them.
Once again, it’s hard to make this story about myself; the reason now being obvious. But I will try. My story is that as a student of Economics and International Business in Monash University, a university ranked amid the 1% of the World’s Universities I knew the world was my oyster. It wasn’t a cliché or a dream it was a reality within my grasp. I had already surpassed many others and was well on my way to success and self-fulfilment.  I knew where I wanted to work and the title I wanted on my door. By the end of year two, I had a plan of how I was going to bulldoze my way into the impossibility of making it there. Then as the years went by I watched that dream die right before my eyes, in disappointment, in failure, in doubt, and above all in calling. Returning home close to 7 years later, it was then a faded image in my once upon a time. It feels like I’ve lived two lives and at the end of one, one truer than the latter was born.
Often times I look at serving as a cauldron with key ingredients that when put under heat release an aroma, appetizing especially to the hungry and deprived.  These are courage, strength, risk, humility, compassion and integrity. It is neither for the weak nor the fickle, certainly not for the coward. Simple reason being, it always comes with a price tag demanding that you pay up; a weighty cost - a demand bigger than one’s ego, reputation and fears.
Serving is a birthing place of greatness uncharacteristic of the song of this age. Rather than, “Alone I am.”  It evolves into, “Together we are.”  A perfect harmony does not resonate in a one-man performance. Think about it, how often we marvel and are inspired by people who lived not for themselves but for others, and how one man’s life can make a way for the lives of umpteen more to be counted as great. One of my favourite places to stand is behind the Great Khama monument, standing tall, proud, and majestic! Surrounded by names engraved on bronze platters: Names of men who literally gave their lives for a purpose greater than them. Both for the freedom of nations.  And now Botswana stands great, among the nations of Africa, and the nations of the World. It was in giving my life to serve the people of this nation that I leaned to be a patriot.

Don’t be fooled, I serve because I want my life to matter; I want it to amount to something greater than me.  As I have found the secret is to live not for myself. What will my life amount to? Truthfully, I have no idea. All I know is never before have I been more alive, and the world remains my oyster. My story is of redemption of dreams and motives and freedom from purposelessness. My name is Nthabiseng Rhoda Mokgoabone.
